Your program and tutoring was the turning point in our daughter's life. After she graduated
from your program, she not only succeeded, but she THRIVED! She was determined to
overcome her disabilities in order to succeed...and succeed she did!

Melanie is experienced in a variety of intervention methodologies, and is always rigorous &
research-based in her approach. She is a top remediator in the Seattle area, and I have a
great deal of confidence sending my clients to her!

Thank you for the work you did with my son last spring and summer. He made clear
improvement in his oral reading skills, his ability to decode letter sounds and spell accurately.
The method you used seemed to be the right approach for him. I believe the key to his
success is the rapport you established with him. He described your sessions as "A lot of fun.
She made learning interesting and we always moved at the right pace, not too fast, not too
slow." I never thought I'd hear him describe tutoring sessions as fun, a term he normally
reserves for playing with his friends. His progress and confidence has given him a good start
in fourth grade where the volume and difficulty of reading material has increased.
-Parent of third grader
We want to thank you for the wonderful tutoring job you did with our daughter. While she was
under your guidance, she improved her reading capability and comprehension by one grade
level, and with this also she became a more confident reader.
-Parent of second grader
Our daughter has enjoyed working with your since the very beginning and has made
tremendous strides in her reading and writing performance. Her new confidence has spread
throughout all her school work. Thanks for making such a difference in our daughter's life!

Ours is a family of readers, so the gradual acceptance of our son's reading difficulties came
only after years of gently trying many different methods. When he first came for tutoring, he
felt worried and discouraged by his previous experiences, so that he didn't even want to try to
read. You did a wonderful job of working with him slowly and gradually meeting him where he
was and introducing material in a way that wasn't overwhelming or intimidating. During those
first weeks, he began to develop confidence that he could learn to read and make progress
weekly. He continues now to build on that foundation. I think you demonstrated a special gift
of sensitivity to work with him so perfectly. You have my heartfelt thanks for giving him hope
that he really could learn to read, and for helping to make it something he looked forward to
each time I brought him to see you.
